About Me

IMG_20181102_080216.jpg

In a nutshell…

I am a researcher, educator, and project manager. Previously, I have been a lecturer in Stanford University’s Program in Writing and Rhetoric, and a Teaching Associate and New Staff Trainer for Arizona State University. There, I facilitated workshops and taught courses on social equity and belonging, and research-based writing and speaking.

I have 15 years of experience fostering productive dialogue, managing people, designing professional development, and teaching equitable communication and research.

I am ever-curious (see: natural sciences concentration in undergrad), which has led me to explore many disciplines (from physics to number theory) and industries (from the music industry to ed tech).

Homes + Habits

My homes have spanned the coasts, from Palo Alto to Brooklyn, Yonkers to Portland—places in which I have conducted rigorous 'research' on local food specialties. In my “spare” time, I weight train, hike, and continue on my quest to read every Hugo and Nebula Award-winning novel (current [emphatic] recommendation: the Binti series).

Fun fact: in my twenties, I moonlighted as a classical and folk-rock violist. I’ve collaborated with Mega Ran and a variety of indie folk-rock groups, and played in myriad settings—from Carnegie Hall to a South by Southwest label showcase, a light rail car in Phoenix to Boston’s Mad Oak Studios.
